Ellisons Solicitors are pleased to have helped those in need this Christmas, by donating to the Ipswich Soup Kitchen.

Bethan Williams, a commercial property solicitor at the firm, has been volunteering at the Ipswich Soup Kitchen for many years – offering her time on Monday evenings to help the homeless. A few years ago, she asked the staff at Ellisons to help with donations, not just to the Soup Kitchen, but also to local Foodbanks within the region, and the initiative took off immediately.

On Monday 18th December, Bethan was able to deliver 70 bags of donations – mostly from Ellisons! – to the Ipswich Soup Kitchen.

The Salvation Army said it was one of their biggest donations received, which would have a massive impact on the community.

Bethan and the other volunteers were able to hand out 70 bags with each containing a hat, scarf, gloves, box of chocolates, box of biscuits, 2 packets of crisps, deodorant, baby wipes, toothpaste and toothbrush plus other goodies.

The firm had also purchased over 100 tins of food for visitors to the Soup Kitchen to take away as well.

Both Clacton and Dovercourt also delivered their donations to local Foodbanks this week, which were greatly received!
