Corporate & Commercial Department Secretary, Ipswich Office

Overview

Working for a Partner and fee earners dealing with Corporate and Commercial work (both mergers and acquisitions and commercial contracts).

£22,000

Working hours:
Full time hours are Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm. Would consider part time / flexible hours from 4 days per week FTE.

Holiday entitlement:
20 days per annum

Job Specification

Duties will include:

  • Electronic diary management, booking rooms, travel and arranging meetings
  • Telephone and email liaison with clients and firm’s contacts
  • Limited use of digital transcription system, Bighand, to create letters, emails and documents
  • Creating, amending and reformatting documents in Microsoft Word and using Track Changes
  • Using the firm’s Accounts software, Partner for Windows, to record payments in and out, create new clients and matters and bills
  • Creating new and existing clients’ matter files and printing and filing emails and documents
  • Archiving completed matters
  • Completing standard forms
  • Photocopying and scanning documents
  • Administration and record keeping using Microsoft Excel
  • Liaising with the Marketing Manager and background research regarding target clients
  • Taking attendance notes of client meetings and calls for fee earners when required

Experience required:

  • At least 2 years recent experience in a legal secretarial role including experience in a corporate commercial role or specific interest in this practice area. Training in this practice area will be provided
  • The ability to multi-task, prioritise and work for more than 1 fee earner. Self reliant and happy with a varied workload depending on fee earner and client requirements
