Philip Roberts, Head of Ellisons Commercial Property team has recently acted for Colne Housing assisting them with their move to new premises at the University of Essex’s exciting Knowledge Gateway development. Philip, assisted by Rachael Watts, solicitor, advised Colne on the terms of their new underlease as well as a licence for alterations, build agreements and warranties.
This was a large project for Colne who had been resident in their offices at Digby House, Causton Road, Colchester for many years. Philip and Rachael co-ordinated with Colne’s Asset Management Team, project manager and surveyor to ensure that the legal documentation was agreed in time, allowing Colne’s fit out works to take place ready for the targeted move in date.
Philip commented: “Rachael and I were delighted to be instructed by Colne to assist with the move to their new premises. Colne’s former office is being turned into residential accommodation so the housing association was asked to find a new home.
