As part of their on-going support to local charities, Managing Partner of Ellisons Solicitors, Kevin Wilsher, had a one hour training session with local Olympian, Elena Baltacha.

The donation was given to the East Anglian Children’s Hospice (EACH), which incidentally enjoys The Duchess of Cambridge as their Royal Patron.

Elena Baltacha was able to give Kevin a training session – which was set out very similar to her own training regime – at her local training ground, Ipswich Sports Club.

Kevin said: ‘‘I was very grateful that Elena could schedule in our training session, especially as it was so close to her Olympic bid. And all the better that we were supporting EACH in the process.’’

Just a few days after their training session, Elena was off to the Olympics to compete. Unfortunately, her bid for a medal came to an end on Monday.

The British professional tennis player is currently ranked 105 in the world, and is a regular British Number 1. Born in Kiev, Elena eventually moved to Ipswich due to her father’s signing with Ipswich Town FC.

EACH is a charity set up to help support families and care for children and young people with life threatening illnesses across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk. The charity has to raise around 5.75million each year to be able to deliver their services to families across these counties.
