Ellisons Solicitors has announced ambitious plans for the future of its Bury St Edmunds office, with a move to larger premises in the town centre to strengthen its client services.

The firm has a 40-year history in Bury St Edmunds, having merged with Wanham Longhurst & Co which first started practising in the town in 1982, and have since built their presence in Bury St Edmunds through organic growth and a merger with Gross & Co. in 2019.

Ellisons is relocating from the former Gross & Co. office in Guildhall Street so it can continue to expand to meet client demand. The new premises at Suite 1A Linden Square, 146 Kings Road is a modern office for both colleagues and clients, with more client meeting rooms and collaborative working space for colleagues.

Located less than a five-minute walk from the current office, the larger Bury St Edmunds’ premise will be more accessible for clients with its town centre location and on-site client parking.

Guy Longhurst, Managing Partner of Ellisons Solicitors, commented: “Wanham Longhurst & Co who we merged with marks its 40th anniversary this year, and as the successor practice, it couldn’t be a better time to be relocating to further enhance the service we are able to offer to our existing and new clients and contacts. We know our clients really like our existing Bury St Edmunds location because it is so convenient for them. It is why we are moving just round the corner, so we can continue to offer the best possible service they have come to expect from us.

“Currently, we have 23 people based at our Bury St Edmunds office. Our new office will provide us with a much-needed flexible space, designed to reflect current working practices, that will allow us to expand further and offer many additional facilities for clients and colleagues.

“We are really looking forward to enhancing the experience and services we can provide our clients while still maintaining our excellent location, right in the heart of Bury St Edmunds.”

The new office in Linden Square is managed by Ellisons Solicitors’ client Pigeon Investment Management Ltd, an entrepreneurial property investment company managing a diverse portfolio of real estate projects.

William van Cutsem, Investment Director at Pigeon, said: ‘The decision made by Ellisons to relocate to Linden Square reinforces our belief that the market for prime Grade A offices remains strong.  It is clear that the long-term shift in working practices, following the Covid 19 pandemic, will see a continued move towards higher quality accommodation such as that offered at Linden Square as employers seek to remain attractive in the increasingly competitive battle for talent.”

Ellisons Solicitors will be celebrating the expansion with clients and colleagues, and will be moving into their new premises in July.
