Ellisons’ Corporate Social Responsibility Committee is delighted to donate £1,000 to St Helena Hospice.
Ellisons Solicitors, which has offices across Essex and Suffolk, is committed to supporting the local community through the work they do and has a dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility Committee to ensure the firm is helping the neighbourhoods it serves in the best and most impactful ways.
Evie Todd, Management Accountant within the Finance team at Ellisons, explains why supporting St Helena Hospice was important and the support they provide to the community: “St Helena Hospice primarily supports local individual facing incurable illness and bereavement – supporting them, their friends, families, carers and community.”
“The team do not just support and advise, they can arrange rapid support visits, provide referrals, and even signpost to ensure you are getting the support needed. The difference Ellisons’ donation will make is incredible. With over 100 calls per day, 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, every penny counts!”
Sadie, Referral Clinical Nurse Specialist at the Hospice when asked what drives her to come to work every day, replied: “Supporting someone who is at end of life is a privilege, making a difference during the worst time of their live.”
St Helena Hospice’s team said: “Ellisons Charitable Fund Committee donation to St Helena Hospice made with Mother’s Day in mind. The weekend of the 19th March 2023 has the opportunity to be a particularly emotional date for many families across north east Essex. St Helena’s SinglePoint Team average in excess of 100 calls a day via the 24/7 telephone service; so for the Hospice to receive Ellisons £1,000 donation during the naturally sensitive period is a huge boost, and we offer them a heartfelt thank you from all St Helena’s patients and their loved ones.”
SinglePoint is the care coordination hub for out of hospital end of life care in north east Essex, providing 24/7 advice and support helpline for people in the last year of life or those with specialist palliative care needs. SinglePoint works alongside other health and social care services such as GPs, community nurses and hospital specialists.
£1,000 is the cost to run the St Helena SinglePoint service for a full 48 hour period, thank you Ellisons’ Corporate Social Responsibility Committee for this wonderful donation.”
