One very courageous lady from Ellisons Solicitors is Braving the Shave this August, all in the name of charity!

Jane Hunnybun, a commercial property secretary at the firm, has been battling cancer for the past three years. As such she decided to take part in Macmillan’s Brave the Shave, raising money for cancer support. She had her hair shaved off on Thursday 11th August at the Ellisons offices.

Jane has raised over 600 from donations made by staff at Ellisons as well as her friends and family. The Partners at Ellisons also donated 150 to the cause.

Jane was diagnosed with breast cancer just over three years ago. Her own treatment plan did not include chemotherapy; however, she decided that for the next five years she would grow her hair and then have it all cut off in order to donate. Unfortunately, due to the side effects of her tablets, Jane’s hair was very thin and so she took the decision to have it cut. Shortly afterwards she heard about Brave the Shave – and so her remaining hair will be no more!

She says: ‘‘I am doing this to thank everyone involved in the team that has looked after me. They have all been brilliant so this is just a thank you! I would also like to thank Ellisons, especially my boss, Partner Kevin Wilsher, who has supported me – Ellisons took me on a year into my treatment and have supported me throughout all my hospital appointments and continued treatment.’’

Supporting Macmillan allows them to be there for people with cancer and their families. You can donate to Brave the Shave, by visiting: https://bravetheshave.org.uk/
