As members of the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS), Ellisons Solicitors are pleased to confirm that as of August 29 2012, HSBC Bank has revised its conveyancing solicitor’s panel arrangements and Ellisons have been automatically appointed to the new arrangements. (This also extends to Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank.)

This had always been the case until HSBC decided unilaterally to restrict its panel to only a very small number of organisations at the beginning of 2012, adding expense for their mortgage customers who wanted to use their own solicitors for a property transaction.

In May 2012 it was agreed between the Law Society and HSBC to expand the bank’s panel to include all CQS firms. HSBC have ensured that they have trained their staff to explain all new arrangements to their customers.

For clients using Ellisons Solicitors for their conveyancing needs, they are assured that they will not incur any extra charges, payable to their bank, when arranging their mortgage.
