Ellisons Solicitors are pleased to announce their support to Age UK Colchester, for the financial year 2012/13.

Staff at the law firm – across its offices in Colchester, Clacton, Harwich and Frinton – were asked to nominate a charity that they would like to pledge their support to in the coming year. The choices were narrowed down and Age UK Colchester came out on top.

Guy Longhurst, Senior Partner at Ellisons, says: ‘‘We’re pleased to announce Age UK Colchester as our official charity for the year and look forward to the fundraising activities coming up. We are a firm that has a real interest in the community which we serve and therefore a chance to support a local charity is of paramount importance to our partners and colleagues.’’

Rachel Fahie, Chief Officer for Age UK Colchester, says: ‘‘We are absolutely delighted to be chosen as Ellisons’ charity of the year. As an independent charity rooted in the local community, the support of a prestigious organisation like Ellisons will enhance the work we undertake for older people.’’

Age UK Colchester works with and for older people in the borough of Colchester, operating from their base at Globe House, 6 George Street. The Colchester based charity offer a wide range of services to keep older people fit and healthy, including computer courses, chair aerobics and their intergenerational project. They also provide up to date and accurate advice and information on a variety of subjects relating to older people.
