Ellisons’ Senior Partner, Guy Longhurst, acted for Knight Developments earlier this year when it purchased the former Essex and Suffolk Water Headquarters, Hall Street, Chelmsford. The site is notable for having been the location of the world’s first wireless factory, which was set up in the old silk factory by Marconi, in December 1898.
Since acquiring the site, Knight Developments have obtained planning consent for a stunning new development of contemporary homes. The development is within easy walking distance of the town centre and will comprise of 2 bedroom apartments and a 2 bedroom house in listed conversions, a 4 bedroom refurbished detached house and nine 3-5 bedroom contemporary town houses.
