Caroline joined Ellisons on 1st April 2020, following the merger with Blocks.
Caroline originally qualified in family protection working for social services as an officer until she re-qualified having achieved her LLB (Hons) at the University of Essex in 2001, thereafter she undertook her training contract at a local practice in Colchester. Having then qualified in 2004, Caroline developed an enthusiasm for litigation and dispute resolution working for practices in Essex and Suffolk as the Head of Litigation, joining Blocks upon leaving the principal litigator role in the legal department at a large East of England County Council.
Caroline has advised London boroughs and local Town Councils as regards procurement challenges, infrastructure contractual disputes, a Senior Coroner as regards Inquest and Decision challenges and various professionals in respect of professional negligence claims both from a claimant and defendant perspective.
Caroline is an authority on judicial review and has several reported cases which are leading cases on specific areas of law including the more recent evolving village green case law:
Caroline is a secretary of the local Scout Group and participate in fundraising for local charities. Caroline also enjoy visiting National Trust and English Heritage properties, cooking and hosting dinner parties.
