John joined Ellisons on 1st April 2020, following the merger with Blocks.
John is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. He is a Collaborative Family Lawyer, Mediator and a Resolution Accredited Specialist in Private Law Children and Complex Financial Remedies. John has over 35 years’ experience in matrimonial and family law gained in North London and Suffolk.
John deals with divorce and relationship breakdown, he also deals with financial and property issues between married and cohabiting couples as well as claims for beneficial interests in property and applications to vary nuptial settlements. John also deals with applications for non-molestation orders and occupation orders under the Family Law Act 1996. John’s reported cases include Newlon Housing Trust v Alsulaimen (1999) AC 313, Re: G (Children) (2005) EWCA Civ 1283 and Re S (A Child) (Effect of long-term supervised contact on welfare) (2015) EWCACiv 689.
John offers sensible straightforward advice; he prides himself on being able to find creative ways to reach solutions.
Outside work John is kept busy with his family and is very active in his local community, in particular, assisting his wife with running a day care centre for disabled adults.
