Joined Ellisons
Scott Porter joined Ellisons Solicitors in 2016, having worked previously for a large litigation firm in London.
Areas of Specialism
- Insolvency, both personal and corporate and in particular contentious insolvency and investigations;
- Fraud, including obtaining freezing orders, search orders and various disclosure orders and other interim relief;
- Financial services litigation, including security enforcement, banking litigation and advising on personal guarantees, loan agreements, debentures and charges;
- Debt recovery, acting both for claimant and defendant in advising on debt recovery and enforcement matters;
- Commercial litigation, including contractual disputes, partnership disputes, director/shareholder remedies and claims against professionals.
Career overview
Scott is an Insolvency specialist solicitor working within the Dispute Resolution department of Ellisons and is Head of Insolvency. Scott was promoted to Partner in May 2018. He is a member of R3, the Association for Business Recovery Professionals and also a member of the Insolvency Lawyers’ Association.
Scott qualified as a solicitor in 2009 in the City of London, where he worked in the insolvency, banking and commercial litigation team, before joining Ellisons. At his previous firm, Scott was part of a highly regarded team that acted for numerous large corporations and Government Departments on complex banking and insolvency litigation.
Scott’s clients include large corporate entities, financial services firms and banks, insolvency practitioners, accountants, private companies and individuals.
Outside the office
Scott enjoys going to various circuits around the country whenever he gets the opportunity. Scott also enjoys rock climbing and spending time with his family.
