    Career overview

Sophie studied law at the University of Exeter and qualified as a Solicitor in March 2019.

Following qualification, Sophie specialised in commercial disputes for 3 years, and this has enabled her to develop a niche in dealing with contentious trusts and probate matters involving complex business structures and assets, particularly farming partnerships.

Sophie has been described in the Legal 500 as “client-friendly and relaxed but with a steely resolve”. Another client also notes that “the whole idea of involving yourself with the legal system and solicitors is intimidating for someone with no previous knowledge or experience. Right from my first meeting with Sophie, she must’ve understood that and immediately put me at ease. She was kind, calm, empathetic and listened to what I had to say – and answered the immediate questions I had about my situation and the law”.

Sophie was promoted to Associate in June 2023 and is an active member of ConTrA (the Contentious Trust Association).
