Representatives from Ellisons, a long-standing supporter and Platinum Sponsor of Colchester & East Essex Cricket Club (C&EECC), joined club members on Saturday, 12 April, to celebrate the official unveiling of new state-of-the-art training nets.
The event marked the completion of a £72,000 investment that will allow professional and school teams to once again train and compete at Colchester Castle Park. The new facilities provide top-tier resources for players at all levels, from aspiring juniors to elite athletes refining their skills.
Guy Longhurst, Managing Partner at Ellisons, said: “C&EECC is a fantastic club with a rich history, providing access to cricket for all in the heart of Colchester, the city where Ellisons was founded over 260 years ago. We are proud to be Platinum Sponsors and to support this outstanding new facility, which will benefit players for generations to come.”
“Our commitment to the Club is part of a broader investment in local cricket. We also proudly sponsor Charlie Allison, a homegrown talent who has progressed from C&EECC to the professional game who has just broken into the county’s 1st XI this season.”
Tim Spelling, Chair of C&EECC, added: “This project is a huge milestone for our club, and we are incredibly grateful to Ellisons and our other sponsors for making it possible. These new nets will be a game-changer, allowing us to attract more teams, nurture talent, and strengthen our role in the local cricketing community.”
