MaryCarmel is a Senior Associate Solicitor in Ellisons’ Family team in Colchester and Frinton-on-Sea. She specialises in all areas of family law with particular experience in supporting individuals with autism or who are separating from an autistic person and families raising a child or children with autism. MaryCarmel also has experience with Children Act 1989 proceedings involving relocation requests outside of the jurisdiction of England and Wales, Hague Convention cases and emergency applications.
MaryCarmel is a member of Resolution which is a national organisation of family law professionals committed to a non-confrontational and constructive resolution of disputes.
MaryCarmel is known for providing an extremely high standard of client care.
MaryCarmel completed her Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Trent University and prior to joining Ellisons in 2014, she was primarily working on Children Act 1989 cases and undertaking Court Advocacy.

MaryCarmel is a mother to two lively young boys. MaryCarmel enjoys spending time with family and friends and exploring the great outdoors and going on expeditions including climbing mountains and camping. MaryCarmel enjoys travelling in Europe with her family. MaryCarmel enjoys baking and cooking and is a member of a local book club. MaryCarmel is also a member of her children’s school’s PTA and enjoys contributing to the school community when possible.
