    Career overview

    Claire was admitted to the roll of solicitors in 2001. She qualified into the Agriculture Department at a firm in Doncaster. Claire practiced in Leeds and Sheffield until 2014, when she moved down to London, later settling in Chelmsford.

    Claire was a Partner at a firm in London for many years.

    Claire specialises in multi jurisdictional high value dispute resolution, and over the years has been involved with several high profile cases. Claire has considerable experience of defending and pursuing cases involving fraud and dishonesty, and considerable experience of responding to and procuring Worldwide Freezing Orders, and other injunctive relief. She is a member of the Fraud Lawyers Association.

    Claire has dealt with many high value commercial litigation cases, and has been the lead adviser in several reported cases over the years. She has also acted in many cases involving harassment and defamation.

    Claire is a qualified mediator and has considerable experience of all forms of ADR. In particular, she has advised, led and been involved in a considerable number of mediations over the last 23 years.

    Many of her cases have an international element. She is therefore experienced in liaising with lawyers in foreign jurisdictions, and building successful teams with them. Over the years, Claire has successfully pursued cases in Canada, Australia, the Middle East, the Russian Federation and EU Member states. She has also assisted in several pieces of litigation relating to supply contracts in China.

    Claire is quite sporty. She was brought up in between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, so has done a lot of hiking and mountaineering. She has climbed mountains on 3 continents. Claire also likes boats, and it is her ambition to sail across the Atlantic one day.
