Ellisons Solicitors are delighted to announce the opening of our sixth office in Chelmsford, offering a full suite of commercial property, corporate and personal legal services from its location in Saxon House, Duke Street.

The expansion into Chelmsford was a natural progression for the firm, which already has offices in Colchester, Ipswich and Tendring, and has almost doubled in size over the past four years.

Ross Wiltshire and Paul Forsyth, who are both local to the area, will be leading the Chelmsford team.

Ross joined Ellisons as a partner in April 2017. He has brought a broad range of experience with him having previously worked at some of the region’s best-known law firms, including Birketts and Prettys. He is a commercial property solicitor with a specialist knowledge of banking and secured lending.

Paul is a partner in the Corporate and Commercial team, with his main focus being the sale or acquisition of private companies. He originally trained and qualified in a London firm but has been with Ellisons since 2010. Paul was promoted to partner two years ago.

Paul and Ross will be supported by solicitors with a broad range of expertise including insolvency, secured lending, insurance litigation, dispute resolution, property litigation, wills, probates, trusts and property.

The new team has over 30 years of experience collectively, and an extensive knowledge of the local area.

Guy Longhurst, Senior Partner, said: “We’re delighted to have opened the new Chelmsford office. We are looking forward to bringing our exceptional service standards, and philosophy of providing straightforward, clear advice to our existing clients and contacts in the Chelmsford area, as well as the wider marketplace. Located within 35 minutes of London, Chelmsford is also an excellent location for the continued expansion of our practice into London, and the further development of our International Business team. This is an exceptionally exciting time for the firm, and a very positive start to 2018.”

The Chelmsford office will advise on a range of issues, both commercial and personal, as well as independent financial advice (Ellisons Financial Planning).

Whilst upholding Ellisons’ traditional values and contemporary approach, the new Chelmsford office will see the firm take a modern stance on the working environment. Saxon House, a co-working office, offers Ellisons and its clients a prime location immediately adjacent to Chelmsford railway station, and within the heart of the city centre. Opening in Chelmsford follows a strategic decision taken in 2017 to expand along the A12 corridor. The opening also follows a period of heavy investment in IT and a process of digital transformation which has been undertaken by the entire firm.

The Chelmsford office also has an informal area, complete with comfortable chairs and coffee machines, creating a welcoming atmosphere for Ellisons’ clients.
